Sign in through OKTA

Choosing OKTA sends you to your company's OKTA to confirm who you are, then brings you back to WeaSSO.

The option is labeled OKTA. It does not replace the WeaSSO account with an OKTA account. WeaSSO sends this sign-in to the organization’s OKTA for identity confirmation, then returns to WeaSSO. This handoff is called bridge sign-in.

The WeaSSO account remains the same. OKTA is used only for the confirmation in between.

Bridge sign-in requires both of the following: the OKTA account is linked to the WeaSSO account, and the current app has the OKTA bridge enabled.

How this differs from opening OKTA yourself

Section titled “How this differs from opening OKTA yourself”
  • You select OKTA while signing in to WeaSSO. You are already in a WeaSSO sign-in. The page goes to your company’s OKTA, you finish whatever sign-in and verification OKTA asks for, and it returns you to WeaSSO to continue.
  • You open an app from the organization’s OKTA. You are in OKTA and open an app connected to WeaSSO. OKTA returns the visit to WeaSSO, which opens the app with the linked account. This path does not require selecting OKTA again.

Both paths use the same WeaSSO account. The only difference is where sign-in starts.

  1. Select OKTA on the method selection page.
  2. The page redirects directly to your company’s OKTA sign-in page. You are not asked for a work email or an OKTA domain along the way.
  3. Complete sign-in and verification on OKTA as your organization requires.
  4. When you are done, the page returns to WeaSSO and continues signing in.

If the page remains on a WeaSSO error, the app’s OKTA bridge is usually not configured yet and cannot be corrected from this page. Record the message, time, and app name, then contact SSOSupport Bot. Do not open an OKTA address that you have guessed.

From that point on you are on OKTA’s own pages, so OKTA’s rules apply:

  • Check that your OKTA account itself can sign in normally
  • Any verification OKTA requires, such as its own MFA, has to be completed there
  • Report any problem that happens on the OKTA pages to SSOSupport Bot. The troubleshooting steps in this guide do not apply there
