Start sign-in from a desktop or mobile app, and check the confirmation page before approving.
When you sign in from a client app, it takes you to the WeaSSO sign-in page. If the session on this device is still valid, the page may go straight to confirmation. Otherwise, complete sign-in and verification first.
- Select sign-in inside the app.
- If the app wants to open your system browser, allow it.
- When the page shows Confirm this sign-in?, check the details (see the next section).
- If everything matches, select Allow sign-in. If you did not start this, select Decline.
- Once the Success page appears, use the button on it to return to the app.
What to check on the confirmation page
Section titled “What to check on the confirmation page”The page greets you with “Hi <your name>, <app name> is requesting to sign in to your account.” and lists:
- Application — the app that started this sign-in
Under “Once allowed, this app can:” you usually see:
| Permission | What it means |
|---|---|
| Confirm your identity | The app learns that the person signing in is you |
| Read your basic profile | The app can read your name, display name, and similar details |
| Send messages on your behalf | The app can send messages as you |
You may also see a User Consent page
Section titled “You may also see a User Consent page”Some apps open a separate consent page. The browser tab says User Consent. The page lists the apps requesting access and the current account, with Allow and Deny buttons.
It is not the same page as Confirm this sign-in?: the User Consent page grants apps access to your account, while Confirm this sign-in? approves a single sign-in request. Allow only an app that you intentionally opened and recognize.
For a failed consent request, look up the exact text in Messages and what they mean.
After a successful sign-in
Section titled “After a successful sign-in”The page shows Success with the note “You will be directed back to your application automatically. If not, click on the button below. You may close the window afterwards.”
If the redirect does not happen, select Next on the page and switch back to the app manually.
Sign-in finished in the browser, but nothing happened in the app
Section titled “Sign-in finished in the browser, but nothing happened in the app”- Switch to the app window yourself. Some systems will not bring it to the front.
- Give it a few seconds; the app may need a moment to receive the sign-in result.
- If nothing happens, close the sign-in page and start again from the app.
- Check whether your system settings prevent that app from opening links.
Do not return to the old sign-in page and keep clicking; it has probably expired.
